Eliyahu Chaim Meisels and R. Eliyahu Feinstein (Pruzhana), all of whom held him in great esteem. After serving for a short period as Rav of Lomza, he relocated to Berlin where he founded a Yeshiva. Following the rise of Nazism he escaped to New York serving on the faculty of Yeshivas Rabbeinu Yitzchak Elchonon. He authored numerous important works, most notably an edition of the Sefer Ha’Mitzvos of the Rambam.
