R. Yaakov Yosef of Ostrog (1731-1791), was one of the foremost Chassidim of the Mezritcher Maggid, and as a child saw the Ba’al Shem Tov. He succeeded his father as Rav in Ostrog and was one of the great disseminators of Chassidus, authoring many important works including Moreh Mikdash and Ayin Mishpat.

ר’ יעקב יוסף מאוסטרהא (תצ”א- תקנ”א, 1731-1791), מראשוני החסידים של המגיד ממעזריטש, ואף ראה את הבעל שם טוב בילדותו. הוא ירש את מקום אביו כרב באוסטרהא והיה אחד מגדולי מפיצי החסידות. חיבר ספרים חשובים רבים, ביניהם מורה מקדש ועין משפט.
