Lot of two miniature paintings of R. Shabse Cohen (the Shach) and R. Moshe Sofer (the Chasam Sofer).
For many generations, it was common custom to hang paintings of great rabbinical leaders on the walls
of one’s home. Particularly in the Austro-Hungarian region, the likeness of the Chasam Sofer was the
painting of choice.
