R. Yiddele Horowitz – Hager (died 1989) was the son of R. Alter of Dzikov and a grandson of R. Yisroel Hager of Vizhnitz (Ahavas Yisroel). He was a disciple of the famed R. Mayer Arik. As was fairly common during that era, he adopted his mother’s maiden name. Following his marriage to his cousin, daughter of R. Chaim Mayer Hager (Imrei Chaim) he served as a Dayan in the city of Klausenberg. Miraculously surviving the Holocaust he lived in Jerusalem and at the end of his life, in London. World renowned as a great Talmid Chochom and Tzaddik, particularly known for his fervent prayers.
Kaufman press, 4, 452 pages. 21 cm. Fair condition, worn from much use, particularly on the daily and Sabbath prayers as well as the Passover Hagadah which has wine stains and Matzo crumbs. Some damage to title page as well to corners of various pages. Original binding, worn.
Extremely rare Chasidic siddur, which belonged to a revered Rebbe.

ר’ ייד’לה הורוויץ-הגר (נפטר בשנת תשמ”ט-1989) היה בנו של ר’ אלתר מדז’יקוב ונכדו של ר’ ישראל הגר מוויזניץ (אהבת ישראל). הוא היה תלמידו של ר’ מאיר אריק. כמקובל באותה תקופה, הוא אימץ את שם המשפחה של אמו לפני נישואיה. בעקבות נישואיו לבת דודתו, בתו של ר’ חיים מאיר הגר (אמרי חיים), הוא כיהן כדיין בעיר קלויזנבורג. הוא שרד את השואה באורח נס, גר בירושלים ובאחרית ימיו עבר ללונדון. נודע ברחבי העולם כתלמיד חכם, צדיק גדול ופועל נפלאות בתפילותיו החמות
