Extremely rare autograph letter by R. Zalman Bloch regarding a financial matter.
R. Zalman Bloch (1886-1941), was the eldest son of The Telzer Rav R. Yosef Leib Bloch. Upon his father’s passing he famously declined to accept the position of Rav and Rosh Yeshiva, selflessly deferring to his younger brother R. Avrohom Yitzchok whom he considered more suitable. A distinguished Talmid Chochom, he served as a Dayan in the Kehilla and as Menahel in the Yeshiva.
He was murdered in the Holocaust on 20th Tammuz 1941, together with the Kedoshei Telz, by the Germans. Father in law of R. Mordechai Gifter, R. Pesach Stein and R. Akiva HaCarmi.

ר’ זלמן בלוך (תרמ”ו- תש”א, 1886-1941), היה בנו בכורו של ר’ יוסף לייב בלוך הרב מטעלז. אחר פטירת אביו סרב לקבל עליו את עול הרבנות וויתר לאחיו הצעיר ר’ אברהם יצחק, מתוך מחשבה שהאח מתאים יותר. התפרסם כתלמיד חכם וכיהן כדיין בקהילה וכן כמנהל הישיבה.
נרצח בשואה ביום כ’ בתמוז תש”א 1941, יחד עם שאר קדושי טעלז.
חתניו היו ר’ מרדכי גיפטר, ר’ פסח שטיין, ור’ עקיבא הכרמי.
