Marriage certificate of R. Yosef Shalom Eliyashiv completed in the handwriting of Rav Eliyashiv’s father R. Avrohom.
Issued by the Chief Rabbinate of Eretz Israel, it records the marriage of “Yosef Shalom Eliyashiv” with “Shayna Chaya” daughter of R. Aryeh and Chana Levine, which took place on the 28th of Adar 1930. The certificate was completed in the handwriting of the Rav of Gomel, R. Avrohom Eliyashiv, who writes his name and that of his wife “Avraham David and Chaya Musha Eliyashiv”.
R. Yosef Shalom Eliyashiv (1910-2012), was born in Siauliai, Lithuania and at the age of 12 emigrated to Eretz Yisroel where he spent his entire life studying with great diligence. He was a Gadol HaDor, both in Halachic and communal matters.

תעודת נישואין של רבי יוסף שלום אלישיב שהושלמה בכתב ידו של אביו של הרב אלישיב רבי אברהם.
בהוצאת הרבנות הראשית של ארץ ישראל, בתעודה רשומים נישואיו של “יוסף שלום אלישיב” עם “שיינה חיה” בתו של ר’ אריה וחנה לוין, אשר התקיימו ביום כ”ח באדר תר”צ (1930). התעודה הושלמה בכתב ידו של רבה של גומל – ר’ אברהם אלישיב, שכותב בשמו ובשם אשתו “אברהם דוד וחיה מושא אלישיב”.
ר’ יוסף שלום אלישיב (תר”ס – תשע”ב, 1910-2012), נולד בסילולאי, ליטא, ובגיל שתיים עשרה עלה לארץ ישראל שם ישב כל חייו ועסק בתורה בשקידה עצומה. הוא היה גדול הדור בעניינים הלכתיים כמו גם בעסקי קהילה.
