Rare autographed postcard of suggested remedies for an invalid. Written to “HaRav HaGadol Tzaddik Mefursam R. Sholom Menashe”
R. Pinchos Michoel Rokeach-Grosslit (c. 1808-1891), served as Rav in Sharshuv and then, for over 25 years, as Rav of Antipolis (a town in Russia located near Brisk). His father was a grandson of R. Yehoshua Rokeach of Pinsk, a grandson of R. Elozor Rokeach. His mother was a descendant of R. Meir Eisenstadt and a granddaughter of R. Pinchos Ha’Levi of Amsterdam.
R. Pinchos Michoel was one of the most well-known Tzadikim and Mekubalim of his generation as is attested to in the celebrated “Igeres HaChalom”. In the Igeres HaChalom there appears a letter sent to R. Pinchos Michoel by the renowned Tzaddik R. Moteleh Ushmina. In the letter, R. Motele Ushmina relates a series of dreams he had on Erev Yom Kippur. In the dreams, the MaHaR”I Ben-Lev (died 1580) appeared to him and told him that he should buy the sefer MaHaR”I Ben-Lev from the Rav of Antipolis (R. Pinchos Michoel), as there is a claim in Heaven against the Antipolis Rav for not publishing the novella he had written on Tractates Me’ilah and Temurah. With the money received R. Pinchos Michoel would be able to publish his sefer which he had begun to prepare for print. At the end of the letter, R. Motele Ushmina requests that R. Pinchos Michoel send him the sefer urgently, for his wife was ill and in danger, and that in the last dream, the MaHaR”I Ben-Lev said that this was because he had not yet bought the sefer. Indeed, four years after that letter was sent to him, R. Pinchos Michoel published his commentary to the aforementioned Masechtos under the title Leket HaKotzrim.

ר’ פנחס מיכאל רוקח- גרויסלייט (סביבות תקס”ח- תרנ”א, 1808-1891), כיהן כרב בשארושאב, ואחר כך, במשך למעלה מעשרים וחמש שנים כרבה של אנטיפאליע (עיר ברוסיה הממוקמת ליד בריסק). אביו היה נכדו של ר’ יהושע רוקח מפינסק, נכדו של ר’ אלעזר רוקח. אמו הייתה מצאצאי ר’ מאיר אייזנשטאט ונכדתו של ר’ פנחס הלוי מאמסטרדם.
ר’ פנחס מיכאל היה מהצדיקים והמקובלים המפורסמים ביותר בדורו, כפי שניתן להיווכח באיגרת החלום הנודעת. באיגרת החלום מופיע מכתב מהצדיק המפורסם ר’ מוטלה’ מאושמינה לר’ פנחס מיכאל, בו הוא מספר על סדרת חלומות שחלם בערב יום הכיפורים. בחלומותיו הופיע אצלו המהר”י בן לב (נפטר בש”מ 1580) וציווה עליו לקנות את הספר מהר”י בן לב מרבה של אנטיפאליע, מאחר ובשמים יש קפידה על הרב מאנטיפאליע על שהוא אינו מוציא לאור את חידושיו על מסכתות מעילה ותמורה. עם הכסף שיקבל תמורת המכירה יוכל ר’ פנחס מיכאל להדפיס את ספרו אשר הוא כבר החל בעריכתו לדפוס. בסוף המכתב מבקש ר’ מוטלה’ אושמינה כי ר’ פנחס מיכאל ימהר בשליחת הספר מאחר ואשתו חלתה ונמצאת בסכנת חיים, ובחלומו האחרון גילה לו המהר”י בן לב כי הסיבה לכך היא שלא מיהר לרכוש את הספר. אכן, כארבע שנים אחר כתיבת המכתב, הוציא ר ‘פנחס מיכאל לאור את חידושי תורתו על המסכתות הנ”ל בספר לקט הקוצרים.
בסיום המכתב ברכות לרפואה שלימה ומהירה- וד’ ישלח ליוח”צ רפואתו בתוך כלל אחב”י חיש מהר ויחזק כח בנו לתורתו ועבודתו כחפצו וכחפץ אוהבו באמת.
