Interesting autograph letter sent by the Rosh Ha’Kohol of the town of Disnna to R. Yosef Rosen, the Rogatchover Gaon. The first part of the letter discusses the appointment of R. Shmuel Eliyahu Ushpul as the Rav of their town. Apparently some people in the community were unsure if they could rely on his rulings, hence the Rosh Ha’Kohol requested that the Rogatchover write a letter stating that they could indeed rely on his rulings.
In the second part of the letter, the writer reminds the Rogatchover of a meal they had together with R. Chaim Soloveitchik and R. Chaim Ozer Grodzensky in Riga, where they had discussed a robbery that had taken place in Lubavitch!

מכתב אוטוגרפי מעניין ששלח ראש הקהל בעיר דיסנא לר’ יוסף רוזן, הגאון מרוגצ’וב. החלק הראשון של המכתב דן במינויו של ר’ שמואל אליהו אושפול לרב העיר, שכן נראה שאנשים מסוימים בקהילה הסתפקו האם אפשר לסמוך על פסיקותיו. אי לכך, ראש הקהל ביקש מהרוגצ’ובר לכתוב מכתב המאשר שאפשר לסמוך על פסקי ההלכה שלו.
בחלק השני של המכתב, הכותב מזכיר לרוגצ’ובר ארוחה שהם סעדו יחד עם ר’ חיים סולובייצ’יק ור’ חיים עוזר גרודז’נסקי מריגא, שם דנו בגניבה שהתרחשה בליובביץ.
