Aaron thanks him for an appeal made in the Pine View Hotel on behalf of the Yeshiva and requests that he make an additional appeal at the Young Israel of Bensonhurst, as the Yeshiva is in difficult financial straits.
R. Aaron Kotler (1892-1963), was renowned from a young age for his brilliant mind coupled with his great diligence. He served as Rosh Yeshiva in Slutzk and Kletsk and established Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, N.J., which today is one of the largest and most prestigious Yeshivos. Known as the pre-eminent Rosh Yeshiva and Torah leader of his generation he was pivotal in the reestablishment of Yeshivos after the Holocaust.

מכתב חתום מר’ אהרן קוטלר לר’ אליהו שוורץ, רב “ישראל הצעיר” בבנונהרסט ומנהל ישיבת “תורת אמת” (קמניץ). ר’ אהרן מודה לו על מגבית שערך במלון “פיין ויו” למען הישיבה ומבקש ממנו לערוך מגבית נוספת ב”ישראל הצעיר” בבנונהרסט שכן הישיבה במצב כלכלי דחוק.
ר’ אהרן קוטלר, (תרנ”ב – תשכ”ג, 1892-1963), התפרסם כבר בגיל צעיר בשל מוחו המבריק יחד עם שקידתו והתמדתו העצומה. הוא כיהן כראש ישיבה בסלוצק ובקלעצק, וייסד את ישיבת “בית מדרש גבוה” בלייקווד, ניו ג’רזי. כיום, זוהי אחת הישיבות הגדולות והנחשבות ביותר. הוא ידוע כראש הישיבה וכמנהיג הדגול ביותר בדורו, והיה ממקימי עולם הישיבות מחדש אחרי השואה.
