R. Moshe Feinstein (1895-1986) was born in Uzda, Belarus where his father served as Rav. Known as
An outstanding Talmid Chochom from a very young age, he was appointed to his first rabbinical post at age 21 and as Rav of Luban a few years later. Following increased religious persecution in Soviet Russia, he immigrated to the United States. He served as Rosh Yeshiva in Mesivta Tiferes Yerusholayim where he taught hundreds of distinguished pupils. He had a leading role in the establishment of the orthodox Jewish community in the U.S. and greatly impacted Jewry the world over. He is regarded as the greatest Posek of his era. Author of Igros Moshe and Dibros Moshe.

מכתב אוטוגרפי על נייר מכתבים רבני מתוארך לשנת תש”ל (1970). הרב מודה למקבל המכתב על עזרתו ברכישת בניין לישיבת סטטן איילנד, ומאשר את התאריך (הלועזי) הצפוי לחתימת הישיבה על הבניין. הוא מסיים בברכה חמה שבנו יצמח ל”גדול בתורה”, ומאחל לו הצלחה בכל ענייניו.
ר’ משה פיינשטיין (תרנ”ה-תשמ”ו 1895-1986) נולד באוזדה, בלארוס. אביו כיהן כרב במקום. הוא נודע משחר ילדותו כתלמיד חכם מופלג והתמנה למשרתו הרבנית הראשונה בגיל 21. כעבור מספר שנים הוא הוכתר לרבה של לובן, ובעקבות רדיפה דתית מתגברת ברוסיה הסובייטית היגר לארצות הברית. הוא שימש כראש ישיבה במתיבתא תפארת ירושלים, שם לימד מאות תלמידים מורמים מעם. היה לו תפקיד מרכזי בהקמת הקהילה היהודית האורתודוקסית בארצות הברית, והשפעתו המכרעת ניכרה על היהדות ברחבי העולם. הוא מוכר בתור גדול הפוסקים בדורו. חיבר את הספרים “אגרות משה” ו”דברות משה”.
