R. Shimon Sofer (1850-1944), was a son of the K’sav Sofer. Known as a great Talmid Chochom and Tzaddik, he served as Rov in Erlau (Eger). He was tragically murdered by the Nazis at the age of 94. Published in Budapest in the midst of the Holocaust.
With the stamps of his grandsons R. Avrohom Shmuel Binyomin Sofer (d. 1948), author of responsa Divrei Sofer and Machzeh Avrohom on the Chasam Sofer, and R. Yochanan Sofer (1923-2016), who reestablished the Erlau Kehilla in Yerusholayim after the Holocaust (Imrei Sofer).

ר’ שמעון סופר (תר”י-תש”ד, 1850-1944) בנו של בעל “כתב סופר”, תלמיד חכם וצדיק גדול בערלוי (איגר), שם כיהן כרב. נרצח בידי הנאצים ימ”ש בגיל 94. ספר זה יצא לאור בעיר בודפשט בעיצומה של מלחמת העולם השניה.
עם חותמות בעלות של נכדיו: ר’ אברהם שמואל בנימין סופר (נפטר תש”ח 1948), מחבר שו”ת “דברי סופר” וספר “מחזה אברהם” על החתם סופר, ור’ יוחנן סופר (תרפ”ג-תשע”ו, 1923-2016) – בעל “אמרי סופר”, אשר הקים מחדש את קהילת ערלוי בירושלים אחרי המלחמה.
