R. Yaakov Lorberbaum (1770-1832) was born into a rabbinical family. Orphaned from his father, he studied under R. Yosef Thumim and R. Meshulam Igra. He served as Rav in various communities most notably Lissa after which he is known. One of the greatest of the Achronim he was held in awe by his rabbinical contemporaries, and his works, including Chavas Da’as, Nesivos Ha’Mishpat, Nachlas Yaakov, Toras Gittin, Bais Yaakov and many others, are classics of Torah scholarship.
R. Pinchos Thumim-Frenkel was a grandson of the Boruch Ta’am and a son in law of R. Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam (Shinniva Rav). He served as Rav in Tchecenov and Bikovsk. Particularly close to the Divrei Chaim who mentions him in his responsa.

ר’ יעקב לוברבום (תק”ל-תקצ”ב 1770-1832) נולד למשפחה רבנית. הוא התייתם מאביו ולמד מפי ר’ יוסף תאומים ור’ משולם אגרא. הוא שימש כרב בקהילות שונות, ונקרא על שם כהונתו המפורסמת ביותר בעיר ליסא. הוא נחשב לאחד מגדולי האחרונים, והרבנים בתקופתו רחשו לו כבוד רב. יצירותיו, כולל “חוות דעת”, “נתיבות המשפט”, “נחלת יעקב”, “תורת גיטין”, “בית יעקב” ועוד רבים, הינן יצירות מופת של לימוד תורה.
ר’ פנחס תאומים-פרנקל היה נכדו של ה”ברוך טעם” וחתנו של ר’ יחזקאל שראג הלברשטאם (הרב משינאווא). הוא שימש כרב בטשכנוב ובביקובסק. היה מקורב במיוחד לדברי חיים, המזכיר אותו בשו”ת שלו.
