Deroshos on the weekly Torah portion as well as on the Megillos, by R. Shimshon Chaim son of R. Nachman Michael Nachmani.
R. Shimshon Chaim Nachmani (1706-1779), was a renowned Talmid Chochom and Mekubal who lived in Italy. He resided in the renowned communities of Modena and Mantua where he taught Torah. Highly revered, many of his talmidim later held rabbinic positions in various Italian communities. The CHIDA writes about him that he was well versed in practical Kabbalah and ordered his Kabbalistic writings to be buried with him in his grave (Shem HaGedolim, Mareches Seforim, 46).
In the introduction, the author implores “with ten expressions of prayer” that his sefer be learned, and blesses those who do so: “The One who repays will recompense you… with the threefold blessing of offspring, life and abundant livelihood”. Further in the preface, the author writes that since his only son had passed away, leaving him without descendants, he named his work Zera Shimshon, and promises that “your eyes will witness sons and grandsons like shoots of the olive tree around your table, wise and understand, and houses full of goodness, wealth and honor shall not cease from your descendants…”.
In recent years, interest in the sefer has increased tremendously and there are many wondrous accounts related of those who received Divine assistance after learning the sefer.

ר’ שמשון חיים נחמני (תס”ו- תקל”ט, 1706-1779), היה תלמיד חכם ומקובל מפורסם שהתגורר באיטליה. ישב בקהילות מודנה ומנטובה הנודעות ולימד בהן תורה. היה נערץ מאוד ורבים מתלמידיו הפכו ברבות הימים לרבנים במקומות שונים באיטליה. החיד”א מזכירו בספרו שם הגדולים וכותב: “שמעתי שהוא היה בקי בקבלה מעשית וציווה לגנוז כל ספריו בקברו” (מערכת ספרים, 46).
בהקדמתו מפציר המחבר ב”עשר לשונות של תפילה” ללמוד בספרו ומברך את העושה כן “ובעל הגמול ישלם בזכות זה שכר טוב לגומלי חסד של אמת במותב תלתא בני חיי ומזוני טבי דבזכותא תלו”. בהמשך ההקדמה כותב המחבר כי בנו היחיד נפטר בחייו, וכדי להותיר שם אחריו, הדפיס בחייו שניים מחיבוריו וקרא להם זרע שמשון. הוא הבטיח שמי שילמד בספריו, יזכה לברכות וישועות מופלגות ומבטיח “ועיניכם תראינה בנים בני בנים כשתילי זיתים סביב לשולחנכם חכמים ונבונים, בתים מלאים כל טוב גם עושר גם כבוד לא יסופו מזרעכם”.
בשנים האחרונות החלה התעניינות גוברת בספר זה ורבים סיפורי הישועות להם זכו אלו אשר למדו בו.
