Sha’arei Teshuva (part two only), called “Chinuch”, by R. Dov Ber Schneerson (1773-1827), “the Mittler Rebbe” of Lubavitch, who inherited the mantle of Chassidic leadership from his father, R. Shneur Zalman of Liadi, “the Alter Rebbe”. He was the first Rebbe of the dynasty to live in Lubavitch and had an immense influence on his Chasidim in particular and on communal Jewish life in Russia in general. He was also a prolific author and his seforim are fundamentals of Chasidic thought.

As is well known, Seforim printed by the Schapiro family press were exceptionally favored by many of the great Chassidic Rebbes and in turn their followers.

שערי תשובה (חלק ב בלבד), המכונה “חינוך” מאת ר’ ר’ דב בער שניאורסון (תקל”ז-תקפ”ז 1773-1827), “דער מיטלר רבי” מליובאוויטש, שירש את מעטה המנהיגות החסידית מאביו, ר ‘שניאור זלמן מלאדי, “האדמו”ר הזקן”. היה האדמו”ר הראשון שהתגורר בעיירה ליובאוויטש. היה בעל השפעה עצומה על חסידיו בפרט ועל חיים יהודיים קהילתיים ברוסיה בכלל. היה גם מחבר מוכשר וספריו הינם יסודות מחשבת החסידות.
יצא לאור על ידי ר’ חנניה ליפא, ר’ אריה לייב, ור’ יהושע העשיל שפירא, נכדים של ר’ פנחס מקוריץ.
כידוע, ספרי קודש שנדפסו בבית הדפוס של משפחת שפירא זכו להעדפה יוצאת דופן על ידי רבים מהאדמו”רים וחסידיהם.
