R. Moshe Chaim Luzzato (1707 -1746), was born in Padua, Italy into a distinguished family. His genius was obvious from a very early age, and as a young man he was already well known for his complete mastery of the entire Biblical, Rabbinic and Kabbalistic literature. He was most well-known for his Mesilas Yesharim – perhaps the most popular Mussar work in Jewish literature. Until today, his profound works continue to touch and inspire Jews of all groups.

ספר נדיר שכתב ר’ משה חיים לוצאטו (הרמח”ל) על גווניה השונים של ההיגיון והליכי המחשבה האנושית, בו הוא מציג צורה אידיאלית לחשיבה ואבחנה. נדפס לראשונה מכתב יד על ידי ר’ יוסף כץ, אשר הוסיף הקדמה וכן ביוגרפיה על הרמח”ל.
ר’ משה חיים לוצאטו (תס”ז-תק”ו 1707-1746) נולד בפדובה, איטליה, למשפחה נכבדה וגאונותו ניכרה עליו מגיל צעיר. שמו יצא למרחוק עוד בצעירותו בזכות שליטתו המוחלטת בש”ס ופוסקים וקבלה כולה. אף על פי שהוא מוכר ביותר בזכות ספרו מסילת ישרים – מן הסתם ספר המוסר הפופולרי ביותר בארון הספרים היהודי – בספריו הרבים הוא התמקד בעיקר בקבלה. ספריו העמוקים ממשיכים להפיח רוח חיים ביהודים עד היום הזה.
