The Va’ad Ha’Yeshivos was established in Vilna in 1924, by the Chofetz Chaim and R. Chaim Ozer Grodzensky, to create a support network for the Yeshivos in Poland and Lithuania. In 1941, it was reestablished in Eretz Yisroel by R. Yitzchok Isaac HaLevy Herzog and R. Zalman Sorotzkin.

ועד הישיבות נוסד בווילנא בשנת תרפ”ד (1924) על ידי ה”חפץ חיים” ור’ חיים עוזר גרודז’ינסקי כדי ליצור רשת סיוע לישיבות בפולין ובליטא. בתש”א (1941) הוקם הוועד מחדש בארץ ישראל על ידי ר’ יצחק אייזיק הלוי הרצוג ור’ זלמן סורוצקין.
