R. Eliyahu Schapiro (1660-1712), was born in Prague and in his youth studied in Kalisch, Poland under the Magen Avrahom. He served as Rav in Kollin and Tiktin, and then as Rosh Yeshiva in Prague. Renowned for his greatness in Torah his seforim were received to tremendous acclaim.

ר’ אליהו שפירא (ת”כ-תע”ח 1660-1712), נולד בפראג ובצעירותו למד בקאליש, אצל ה”מגן אברהם”. הוא כיהן כרב בערים קולין וטיקטין ולאחר מכן כראש ישיבה בפראג. נודע בגדלותו בתורה וספריו התקבלו בהתלהבות מרובה.
