Shmuel Tiktin on New York in response to an enquiry
about the Rishon L’Zion’s sefarim.
Fair condition, some tears along folds.
CHIEF RABBI YITZCHAK ISSAC HERZOG. TERM
OF OFFICE 1936–1949.
Typed letter, signed in English, on the letterhead of
the Office of the Chief Rabbi. Dated Feb. 15th 1943,
written to benefactor in New York thanking him for a
generous donation. Makes mention of the situation of
refugees from Europe and their terrible plight.
Fine condition, some folds.
RISHON L’ZION. RABBI BENZION UZIEL. TERM
OF OFFICE 1939–1954.
Typed letter, signed in Hebrew, on personal
letterhead. Dated 1952, written on the occasion of
the fiftieth anniversary of a girls orphanage.
Fine condition, some folds, reinforced with tape.
CHIEF RABBI ISSER YEHUDA UNTERMAN. TERM
OF OFFICE 1964–1972.
Typed letter signed in Hebrew. Dated 1962, during
his tenure as Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv. Written to the
offices of Ezras Torah in New York regarding charitable
activities.
Fine condition, some folds.
Lot includes carbon copy of a typed letter, signed in
Hebrew, by Rabbi A. Y. Kook to Rabbi Aaron Hyman
of London, concerning the raising of funds for R.
Kook’s Yeshiva.
