Signed letter to R. Yechezkel Levenstein. R. Yoffen writes that R. Pinchos Lieberman is about to republish the Chovas Halvavos with a concise commentary which he anticipates will generate a renewed interest in learning Chovas Halvavos, and that he had given R. Lieberman an approbation and requests R. Chatzkel to do the same. Incidentally, although the Chovas Halvavos with the commentary Lev Tov was warmly received, it appeared without any such approbation.
R. Avrohom Yoffen (1886-1970), learned in the Yeshivos of Slutzk and Kobrin as well as under R. Zalman Sender Kahana-Shapiro. He later went on to learn under the Alter of Novardok and eventually married his youngest daughter. Upon the passing of the Alter in 1919, he headed the network of Novardok Yeshivos. In 1941, he escaped Europe via Japan, and reestablished Yeshivas Bais Yosef in New York. In 1962 he immigrated to Eretz Yisroel, where he headed the surviving Novardok Talmidim until his passing.

מכתב חתום לר’ יחזקאל לוונשטיין. הוא כותב כי ר’ פנחס ליברמן עומד להוציא לאור מחדש את הספר חובות הלבבות עם פירוש תמציתי שלדעתו עתיד לעורר מחדש את הלימוד בספר חובות הלבבות. הוא מציין כי הוא כתב הסכמה לר’ ליברמן ומבקש מר’ חצק’ל לנהוג כמותו. אגב, אם כי הספר חובות הלבבות עם הפירוש לב טוב אכן התקבל באהדה עצומה, כפי הנראה ר’ חצק’ל לא כתב הסכמה.
ר’ אברהם יפה’ן (תרמ”ו- תש”ל, 1886-1970), למד בישיבות סלוצק וקוברין וכן אצל ר’ זלמן סנדר כהנא- שפירא. בהמשך עבר ללמוד תורה מפי הסבא מנובהרדוק עד שלימים נישא לבתו הצעירה. עם פטירת הסבא בשנת תרע”ט (1919), עמד הוא בראש הנהגת רשת ישיבות נובהרדוק. בשנת תש”א (1941) נמלט מאירופה דרך יפן, והקים מחדש את ישיבת בית יוסף בניו יורק. בתשכ”ב (1962) עלה לארץ ישראל, שם הנהיג את תלמידי נובהרדוק השורדים עד לפטירתו.
