R. Moshe Feinstein (1895-1986), was born in Uzda, Belarus where his father served as Rav. Recognized as an outstanding Talmid Chochom from a very young age, he was appointed to his first rabbinical post at age 21 and as Rav of Luban a few years later. Following increased religious persecution in Soviet Russia, he immigrated to the United States. He served as Rosh Yeshiva in Mesivta Tiferes Yerusholayim where he taught hundreds of distinguished talmidim. He had a prime role in the establishment of the orthodox Jewish community in the U.S. and greatly impacted Jewry the world over. He was the preeminent Posek of his time answering thousands of Halachic questions from across the world.
R. Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman (1900-1987), was born in a small town near Vilna, where his father was Rav. He studied in the Slabodka Yeshiva and has a particularly close connection to the Alter. He married the daughter of R. Sheftel Kramer, and in 1930, he joined R. Sheftel at the latter’s Yeshiva in New Haven, Connecticut. In 1933, R. Ruderman moved to Baltimore, where he became Rav of the Tiferes Yisroel Shul, and subsequently founded the Ner Yisroel Yeshiva, where he taught generations of Talmidim.

מכתב אוטוגרפי שכתב ר’ משה פיינשטיין לר’ יעקב יצחק רודרמן, לעזור ר’ יעקב העניג מירושלים, אותו הוא מכנה “אדם גדול”.
ר’ משה פיינשטיין (תרנ”ה-תשמ”ו 1895-1986) נולד באוזדה שבבלארוס, שם כיהן אביו כרב. הוא נודע משחר ילדותו כתלמיד חכם מופלג והתמנה למשרתו הרבנית הראשונה בגיל 21. כעבור מספר שנים הוכתר לרבה של לובאן, ובעקבות רדיפה דתית גוברת ברוסיה הסובייטית היגר לארצות הברית. הוא שימש כראש ישיבה במתיבתא תפארת ירושלים, שם לימד מאות תלמידים חשובים. היה לו תפקיד מרכזי בהקמת הקהילה היהודית האורתודוקסית בארצות הברית, אך השפעתו המכרעת ניכרה הרבה מעבר לגבולות ארה”ב. התפרסם כגדול הפוסקים בדורו והשיב לאלפי שאלות הלכתיות מכל רחבי העולם.
ר’ יעקב יצחק רודרמן (תר”ס-תשמ”ז, 1900-1987) נולד בעיירה קרובה לוילנא, שם שימש אביו כרב. למד בישיבת סלבודקא והיה מקורב במיוחד להסבא. נישא לבת ר’ שפטל קרמר, ובשנת תר”ץ (1930) הצטרף לחמיו בישיבתו בעיר ניו הייבן קונטיקט. בשנת תרצ”ג (1933) עבר הר’ רודרמן לבולטימור, שם שימש כרב בית הכנסת “תפארת ישראל” וייסד את ישיבת “נר ישראל”, בה העמיד תלמידים רבים לאורך הדורות.
