On the title page the CHID”A writes that he received the sefer as a gift and then signs his name.
Additionally, on page 60b there is a learned gloss in the handwriting of the CHID”A. With additional glosses in an unidentified Sephardic hand.
R. Chaim Yosef Dovid Azulai (1724-1806), was one of the greatest Torah scholars and authors of his generation. He studied under the Ohr HaChaim Ha’Kodosh and the RaShaSH and was a close contemporary of R. Yom Tov (MaHaRIT) Algazi. He was a prolific author writing more than eighty seforim on many aspects of Torah. His seforim were received with great acclaim and are classics of Torah scholarship.

בעמוד השער כותב החיד”א כי קיבל ספר זה במתנה וחותם את שמו.
בנוסף, בעמוד 60ב ישנה הערה תלמודית בכתב יד החיד”א. וכו הערות נוספות בכתב ספרדי בלתי מזוהה.
ר’ חיים יוסף דוד אזולאי (תפ”ד- תקס”ו, 1724-1806), היה מגדולי תלמידי החכמים והמחברים בדורו. למד תורה מפי האור החיים הקדוש והרש”ש, והיה מקורב מאוד לר’ יום טוב (מהרי”ט) אלגזי. היה סופר רב פעלים וחיבר למעלה משמונים ספרים על כל מכמני התורה. ספריו נתקבלו באהדה עצומה ונחשבים ספרי לימוד יסודיים עד ימינו.
