Novella on Tractate Beitzah by R. Peretz Zavel Eiger, who was a cousin and confidante of R. Akiva Eiger. With approbations of both R. Akiva Eiger and the Chasam Sofer, as well as some novella of both of the above. Inscribed in a hand from that era, (with edges closely shaved affecting edge of text) “belonging to our master the great Gaon…Raban Shel Kol Bnei Hagolah…R. R. Akiva Eiger-Ginz (1761-1836), was born in Eisenstadt into a rabbinical family and was well known as a child prodigy. He studied in the Yeshiva of Mattersdorf, and following that in Breslau as a student of his maternal uncle R. Wolf Eiger. In 1791, he was appointed as Rav of Friedland where he remained until 1815, after which he became the Rav of Posen. He was world renowned as an outstanding Talmid Chochom, Posek and foremost leader of European Jewry during the early 19th century. His novella were as received to great acclaim and remain classics of Torah scholarship, studied with great reverence.
Among his children were his sons, R. Avrohom (1781-1853) and R. Shlomo (1785-1852), who was Rav in Kalisch, Poland and succeeded R. Akiva Eiger as Rav of Posen. His daughter Sorel (Eiger) Sofer (1790-1832) was the wife of the Chasam Sofer.

חידושים על מסכת ביצה מאת ר’ פרץ זאבל איגר, בן דודו ואיש סודו של ר’ עקיבא איגר. עם הסכמות מאת ר’ עקיבא איגר והחתם סופר ומעט חידושי תורה של שניהם.
הקדשה בכתב יד מאותה תקופה (עם קצוות מיושרים צמודים לטקסט ומשפיעים על קצה הטקסט) “שייך לאדוננו הגאון המפורסם… רבן של כל בני הגולה… ר’ (עקיבא) איגר מפוזנא, מאיר …מליסא”. עם חותמות ספרייתו של ר’ יצחק לייב איגר מיוהנסבורג, בנו של רבי עקיבא איגר.
ר’ עקיבא איגר-גינז (תקכ”א-תקצ”ו 1761-1836) נולד באייזנשטט למשפחה רבנית, ונודע כילד עילוי. למד בישיבת מטרסדורף, ולאחר מכן בברסלוי אצל דודו מצד אמו, ר’ וולף איגר. בשנת תקנ”א (1791) התמנה לרב בעיר פרידלנד וכיהן שם עד תקע”ה (1815), אז התמנה לרבה של העיר פוזן. נודע ברחבי העולם כתלמיד חכם עצום, פוסק הדור ומגדולי המנהיגים של יהדות אירופה בתחילת המאה ה19. ספרי החידושים שלו התקבלו באהדה ונחשבים חלק בלתי נפרד מהלימוד בעולם התורה.
בין ילדיו נמנים שני בניו, ר’ אברהם (תקמ”א-תרי”ג 1781-1853) ור’ שלמה (תקמ”ה-תרי”ב 1785-1852) שהיה רב בקאליש, פולין, וירש את מקומו של ר’ עקיבא איגר כרבה של פוזן. בתו שר’ל (איגר) סופר (תק”נ-תקצ”ב 1790-1832) הייתה רעייתו של החתם סופר.
