Ohr Ha’Mussar includes essays by the Alter of Kelm, R. Naftali Amsterdam and others. Madregas Ha’Odom contains the discourses of R. Yosef Yoizel Horowitz, known as the “Alter” of Novardok.
The Novardok Yeshiva was established by R. Yosef Yoizel Horowitz (1847-1919), a student of R. Yisroel Salanter and R. Simcha Zissel Ziv, the “Alter” of Kelm. It quickly became one of the biggest and most important network of Yeshivos in pre-war Eastern Europe which included tens of Yeshivos and thousands of students. Distinguished alumni include R. Yechezkel Abramsky, R. Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman, and the Steipler Gaon among others.

“אור המוסר” כולל מאמרים מהסבא מקלם, ר’ נפתלי אמסטרדם ואחרים. “מדרגת האדם” מכיל את שיחותיו של ר’ יוסף יוזל הורוביץ, שנודע בתור “הסבא מנובהרדוק”.
ישיבת נובהרדוק נוסדה על ידי ר’ יוסף יוזל הורוביץ (תר”ז-תרע”ט 1847-1919), תלמידם של ר’ ישראל מסלאנט ור’ שמחה זיסל זיו, הסבא מקלם. עד מהרה הפכה הישיבה לרשת ישיבות מהגדולות והחשובות באירופה של לפני המלחמה אשר כללה עשרות ישיבות ואלפי תלמידים. בין בוגרי הישיבה הנודעים ניתן למנות את ר’ יחזקאל אברמסקי, ר’ יוסף שלמה כהנמן, ה”סטייפלער” ואחרים.
