Historic document, dated 1979, signed by R. Moshe Teitelbaum of Satmar, R. Shlomo Halberstam of Bobov and R. Yisroel Spira of Bluzhev.
Apparently, the World Jewish Congress (a non-orthodox organization), together with the Federation of Polish Jewry, had entered negotiations with the Polish government in order to receive compensation for communal Jewish property in Poland plundered during the Holocaust. The undersigned Admorim state emphatically that neither of these organizations have the rights to enter such negotiations as representatives of Polish Jewry. In addition, they feel that these discussions would jeopardize the survival of the Jewish cemeteries in Poland. They conclude by stressing that they are hopeful that the above organizations heed their call and that if they were to continue on their path, they would be forced to condemn them publicly.
R. Moshe Teitelbaum of Satmar (Beirach Moshe) (1914-2006), was born in Sighet, Romania, to his father, R. Chaim Tzvi Teitelbaum (Atzei Chaim). On his mother’s side, he was a great-grandson of R. Chaim of Tzanz (Divrei Chaim) and a descendant of R. Shneur Zalman of Liadi (Ba’al HaTanya). He served as Rav in Zenta. During the Holocaust, he was deported to Auschwitz where his wife and three children were murdered. After the Holocaust, he immigrated to the United States. After the passing of the Satmar Rav, he was appointed as leader of Satmar Chassidim. He also served as the president of the Eidah HaCharedis in Eretz Yisroel. This letter was written a few months after the passing of the Satmar Rav, when the Beirach Moshe had not yet formally accepted the leadership of Satmar thus he signed as Sigheter Rav.
R. Shlomo Halberstam of Bobov (1908-2000), was the son of R. Bentzion Halberstam (Kedushas Tzion). He was named for his grandfather R. Shlomo of Bobov (the first Bobover Rebbe), son of R. Meir Nosson Halberstam who was the son of the Divrei Chaim of Tzanz. In his youth, he received Semicha from many of the Rabbonim of Galicia. In 1931, he began serving as Rav in Bobov. He miraculously escaped the Nazi inferno and immigrated to the United States in 1946. He restored the Bobov court after the Holocaust and transformed it into the Chassidic kingdom it is today. His Torah was published under the title Kerem Shlomo.
R. Yisroel Spira of Bluzhev (1889-1989), was born in Reisha Galicia, to R. Yehoshua Spira (Keren Yehoshua), a son of R. Tzvi Elimelech of Bluzhev, (Tzvi L’Tzaddik), a grandson of the Bnei Yissoschar. Known as a child prodigy, at the young age of 13, he received Semicha from the MaHarShaM and later served as Rov in various communities in Galicia. In 1931 he succeeded his father as Bluzhever Rebbe. After miraculously surviving the horrors of the Holocaust, he immigrated to America settling in New York where he reestablished his court. Greatly revered, he was instrumental in the establishment of the post Holocaust community.

מסמך היסטורי המתוארך לשנת תש”מ 1979, עם חתימתם של ר’ משה טייטלבוים מסאטמאר, ר’ שלמה הלברשטאם מבאבוב, ור’ ישראל שפירא מבלוז’ב.
כפי הנראה, פתחו הקונגרס היהודי העולמי (ארגון חילוני), יחד עם הסתדרות יהדות פולין, בדין ודברים מול ממשלת פולין, בדרישת פיצוי על רכוש הקהילה היהודית שנבזז במהלך השואה. האדמו”רים החתומים מטה מצהירים נמרצות כי לארגונים אלו אין רשות וסמכות לגשת למשא ומתן שכזה כנציגי יהדות פולין. הם מוסיפים כי הם חוששים שדיונים אלו יסכנו את המשך קיום בתי הקברות היהודיים בפולין. המכתב מסתיים בתקווה כי הארגונים הנ”ל ימשכו את ידם מין התביעה, וכי במקרה שימשיכו בדרכם זו- יאלצו להחרימם בפומבי.
ר’ משה טייטלבוים מסאטמאר (הברך משה) (תרע”ד- תשס”ו, 1914-2006), נולד בסיגעט, רומניה, לאביו, ר’ חיים צבי טייטלבוים (העצי חיים). מצד אמו היה נין של ר’ חיים מצאנז (דברי חיים) ומצאצאי ר’ שניאור זלמן מלאדי (בעל התניא). כיהן כרב בזנטא. במהלך השואה נלקח לאושוויץ בה נרצחו אשתו ושלושת ילדיו. אחרי השואה היגר לארצות הברית, ועם פטירת האדמו”ר מסאטמאר, נתמנה לממשיכו. הוא אף שימש כנשיא העדה החרדית בארץ ישראל. מכתב זה נכתב חודשים ספורים אחר פטירת האדמו”ר מסאטמאר, בטרם קיבל על עצמו הברך משה באופן רשמי את הנהגת חצר סאטמאר ועל כן הוא חותם האדמו”ר מסיגעט.
ר’ שלמה הלברשטאם מבאבוב (תרס”ח- תש”ס, 1908-2000), היה בנו של ר’ בן ציון הלברשטאם מבאבוב. נקרא על שם סביו- ר’ שלמה מבאבוב, בן ר’ מאיר נתן הלברשטאם בנו של הדברי חיים מצאנז. בצעירותו קיבל סמיכה מהרבה מרבני גליציה. בתרצ”א (1931), התחיל את כהונתו כרב מבאבוב. נמלט בנס מן התופת הנאצית והיגר לארצות הברית בתש”ו 1946. לאחר השואה שיקם את חצר באבוב והפך אותה לממלכה החסידית שהיא כיום. חידושי תורתו נדפסו בספר כרם שלמה.
ר’ ישראל שפירא מבלוז’ב (תרמ”ט-תשמ”ט 1889-1989), נולד ברישא גליציה, לר’ יהושע שפירא (קרן יהושע), בנו של ר’ צבי אלימלך מבלוז’ב (צבי לצדיק), נכדו של הבני יששכר. נתפרסם כילד עילוי, ובגיל 13 קיבל סמיכה מהמהרש”ם. שימש כרב בקהילות שונות בגליציה. בשנת תרצ”א (1931), ירש את מקום אביו כאדמו”ר מבלוז’ב. שרד בנסים את איימי השואה ולאחריה היגר לאמריקה והתיישב בניו יורק שם ייסד מחדש את חצירו. היה נערץ מאוד ומילא תפקיד מכריע בהקמת הקהילות היהודיות שלאחר השואה.
עם חתימה נוספת מר’ משה פיינשטיין, שנראה שנכתבה לבקשתו ע”י אחד מתלמידיו.
