Long autograph halachic responsa by R. Shmuel HaLevi Wosner to R. Eliyahu Schlesinger, on a complicated question in Shulchon Oruch Even Ha’Ezer. This responsa was written by R. Wosner at the advanced age of 90!
R. Shmuel HaLevi Wosner (1913-2015), learned under R. Meir Shapiro and R. Shimon Engel (Zelichover) in Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin and immigrated to Eretz Yisroel in 1939. Following a number of years serving on the rabbinate of the Eidah Ha’Chareidis, he relocated to Bnei Brak at the behest of the Chazon Ish to serve as the founding Rov of Zichron Meir. He also served as Rosh Yeshiva of the reestablished Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin. He was one of the preeminent poskim of his time and taught generations of talmidim including hundreds of Rabbonim. תשובה הלכתית אוטוגרפית ארוכה מאת ר’ שמואל הלוי וואזנר לר’ אליהו שליזינגר, בעניין שאלה מורכבת בשולחן ערוך אבן העזר. תשובה זו נכתבה על ידי הרב וואזנר בגיל 90 המופלג!
ר’ שמואל הלוי וואזנר (תרע”ג- תשע”ה, 1913-2015), למד מפי ר’ מאיר שפירא ור’ שמעון אנגל (זליכובער’) בישיבת חכמי לובלין. בשנת תרצ”ט (1939) עלה לארץ ישראל בה שימש תחילה כמה שנים בעדה החרדית. בעקבות הוראתו של החזון איש שישמש כרב המייסד של שכונת זכרון מאיר בבני ברק- עבר אליה. כיהן גם כראש ישיבת חכמי לובלין המחודשת. היה מגדולי הפוסקים בדורו ולימד תורה לדורות של תלמידים, ביניהם מאות רבנים. מחבר הספר שבט הלוי.
