Chaim Ozer Grodzensky, blessing him and his entire family with beautiful blessings for “a year of life and peace, happiness and blessing, and that you should be inscribed and sealed in the book of the Tzadikim Gemurim, for good, long life”. With an additional note and signature to “R. Aaron” regarding a financial matter.
Written from Radin. As is well-known, R. Elchonon used to travel to Radin for Chodesh Elul to bask in the presence of his revered Rebbe the Chofetz Chaim.
R. Elchonon Bunim Wasserman (1874-1941), learned at the Telshe Yeshiva under R. Leizer Gordon and R. Shimon Shkop, and later became a leading talmid of both R. Chaim Soloveitchik and the Chofetz Chaim. As Rosh Yeshiva in Baranovitch, he was renowned for his clear and penetrating shiurim which attracted many students. His seforim, Kovetz Shiurim, Kovetz He’oros and Kovetz Ma’amarim became classics and are widely studied in Yeshivos. Additionally, he was very involved in communal matters and was one of the leaders of the Agudas Yisroel movement.

גלויה אוטוגרפית לבבית ששלח ר’ אלחנן ווסרמן לגיסו ר’ חיים עוזר גרוז’ינסקי בו הוא כותב: “אברך את כ”ג ואת ביתו בשנת חיים ושלום אושר וברכה ויכתב ויחתם בספרן של צדיקים גמורים לחיים טובים וארוכים”. עם מכתב וחתימה נוספת “לר’ אהרן” בעניין כספי.
נשלח מראדין. כפי הידוע, נוהג היה ר’ אלחנן לשהות בראדין בחודש אלול ולהתבשם מאורו של רבו הנערץ, החפץ חיים.
ר’ אלחנן בונם ווסרמן, תרל”ד – תש”א (1874-1941), למד בישיבת טעלז אצל ר’ לייזר גורדון ור’ שמעון שקאפ. בהמשך היה לתלמיד מקורב לר’ חיים סאלאוויצ’יק והחפץ חיים. בתור ראש הישיבה בברנוביץ’ הוא נודע בשיעוריו הברורים והמחודדים שמשכו אליהם תלמידים רבים. ספריו – קובץ שיעורים, קובץ הערות וקובץ מאמרים – הפכו לספרי יסוד הנלמדים בישיבות רבות. בנוסף, הוא היה מעורב באופן נרחב בנושאים קהילתיים שונים, והיה פעיל מאוד בתנועת אגודת ישראל.
