Yaakov Rosenheim regarding immigrating to America. Curiously, this never materialized and ultimately R. Dovid Sperber (Brashover Rav) and his son-in law R. Yehoshua Deutsch (Katomoner Rav) both immigrated to Eretz Yisroel.
R. Dovid Sperber (1877-1962), was one of the great rabbinic figures in Romania. He was a close student of R. Meir Arik. He also had a close relationship with R. Moshe Hager of Kosov, who asked R. Dovid to assist in the publication of his seforim. Following the Holocaust, he was greatly involved in the plight of thousands of Agunos. He later immigrated to Eretz Yisroel, where he was highly regarded and served as a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah.
R. Yehoshua Segal Deutsch (1910-1990), was a talmid of both R. Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky and R. Yoel Teitelbaum. He was a Chasid of R. Shayla of Kerestir and of R. Aaron of Belz. He was particularly close to R. Aaron of Belz and was one of the inner circle of distinguished Belzer Chassidim. He served as Rav in the Katamon neighborhood. In addition to being a renowned Talmid Chochom, he was also an outstanding orator famous for his Deroshos.

מכתב אוטוגרפי מאת ר’ דוד שפרבר מבראשוב ור’ יהושע דייטש לאגודת ישראל ומורינו ר’ יעקב רוזנהיים בעניין הגירה לאמריקה. מעניין לציין כי ההגירה המדוברת לא התקיימה לבסוף, שכן בסופו של דבר עלו ר’ דוד שפרבר (הרב מבראשוב) וחתנו ר’ יהושע דייטש (הרב מקטמון) לארץ ישראל.
ר’ דוד שפרבר (תרל”ז-תשכ”ב, 1877-1962), היה מגדולי הרבנים ברומניה. היה תלמיד מקורב של ר’ מאיר אריק ור’ משה הגר מקוסוב אשר אף ביקש ממנו לסייע בהדפסת ספריו. אחרי השואה היה מעורב ביותר במצבן של העגונות. לימים עלה לארץ ישראל בה היה נערץ ביותר ושימש כחבר במועצת גדולי התורה.
ר’ יהושע סגל דייטש (תר”ע- תש”נ, 1910-1990), היה תלמיד של ר’ יוסף צבי דושינסקי ור’ יואל טייטלבוים. חסיד של ר’ ישעיהלה’ מקרעסטיר ור’ אהרן מבעלזא. היה מקורב ביותר לר’ אהרן מבעלזא ונחשב בין חסידי בעלזא הנכבדים ביותר. כיהן כרב בשכונת קטמון. נוסף להיותו תלמיד חכם מפורסם, נודע גם בדרשותיו המופלאות.
