Letter of recommendation written to The Ezras Torah Organization and R. Yosef Eliyahu Henkin on behalf of a student, signed by the revered Mashgiach R. Elya Lopian.
R. Elya Lopian (1876-1970), was born in Poland and studied in the famed Talmud Torah of Kelm. In 1928, he immigrated to England where he served as Rosh Yeshiva in the Eitz Chaim Yeshiva. In 1950 he moved to Eretz Yisroel. Although initially he did not plan to accept a position in Eretz Yisroel, with the blessing and encouragement of the Chazon Ish, he agreed to serve as Mashgiach in the Yeshiva of Kfar Chasidim, headed by R. Noach Shimonovitz. In that capacity he educated hundreds of talmidim in the hallowed traditions of the Mussar movement. His own sons and sons in law were also world renowned Talmidei Chachomim, including R. Leib Gurwicz and R. Leib, R. Eliezer and R. Chaim Shmuel Lopian.

מכתב המלצה לתלמיד אל ר’ יוסף אליהו הענקין ועזרת תורה, עם חתימתו של המשגיח הנערץ ר’ אליהו לופיאן.
ר’ אליהו לופיאן (תרל”ו-תש”ל, 1876-1970), נולד בפולין ולמד בישיבת קעלם המעטירה. בשנת תרפ”ח 1928 עבר לאנגליה וכיהן כראש ישיבה בישיבת עץ חיים. בשנת תש”י 1950 עלה לארץ ישראל. אמנם מלכתחילה לא חשב ליטול משרה בארץ ישראל, אולם בעידודו ובברכתו של החזון איש, הסכים לקבל עליו את תפקיד המשגיח בישיבת כפר חסידים של ר’ נח שמעונוביץ. במעמדו זה חינך מאות תלמידים במסורת תנועת המוסר. בניו וחתניו נודעו אף הם כתלמידי חכמים מופלגים, ביניהם ר’ לייב גורביץ, ר’ לייב, ר’ אליעזר, ור’ חיים שמואל לופיאן.
