Extremely rare autograph letter by R. Moshe Yechiel Epstein (1889-1971), thoroughly documenting the “Yichus” of his ancestor the Boruch Ta’am.
R. Boruch Frankel-Thumim (1760-1828), was known from a young age as a child prodigy with a lightning quick grasp, combined with great piety and exceptional diligence. He was a talmid of R. Meshulam Igra. He served as Rav in Vishnitza, where he established a Yeshiva, and from 1800, in Leipnik where in addition to his rabbinical duties, he led a pre-eminent Yeshiva. World famous as one of the most prominent Talmidei Chachomim of his generation, he was held in awe by his rabbinical contemporaries as well as the masses. He was the father in law of R. Chaim Halberstam of Tzanz (Divrei Chaim).
R. Moshe Yechiel Epstein (1889 – 1971), was a son of R. Shloime of Ozserov and was renown from a young age as a tremendous masmid and Talmid Chochom. In 1926, he immigrated to America settling in New York. In 1953, he moved to Eretz Yisroel settling in Tel Aviv where he established a Bais Ha’Midrash. His seforim Aish Dos (11 volumes) and Be’er Moshe (12 volumes) are renowned for their depth. In 1968, following the passing of R. Zalman Sorotzkin he was elected as honorary president of the Moetzes Gedolei Ha’Torah.

מכתב אוטוגרפי נדיר במיוחד מאת ר’ משה יחיאל אפשטיין (תרמ”ט- תשל”א 1889-1971), בו הוא מתעד בהרחבה את יחוסו של זקנו- הברוך טעם.
ר’ ברוך פרנקל תאומים (תק”כ- תקפ”ח 1760-1828), נודע מגיל צעיר בכישרונותיו העילויים ובתפיסתו החדה, בשילוב עם יראת שמים והתמדה עצומה. היה תלמידו של ר’ משולם איגרא. כיהן כרב בויזניצה, בה הקים ישיבה, ומשנת תק”ס (1800), היה הרב בלייפניק, שם, בנוסף לתפקידיו הרבניים, כיהן כראש ישיבה למצוינים. התפרסם בכל העולם כאחד מגדולי תלמידי החכמים בדורו, הוחזק ביראת כבוד בקרב הרבנים כמו גם אצל ההמונים. חמיו של ר’ חיים הלברשטאם מצאנז (דברי חיים).
ר’ משה יחיאל אפשטיין (תרמ”ט- תקפ”ח 1889-1828), היה בנו של ר’ שלמה מאוזרוב, ונודע כבר בצעירותו כתלמיד חכם ומתמיד עצום. בתרפ”ו (1926) עבר לאמריקה והתיישב בניו יורק. בשנת תשי”ג (1953) עלה לארץ ישראל וקבע את מושבו בתל אביב, שם עמד בראש בית המדרש. התפרסם כתלמיד חכם עצום וספריו אש דת (11 חלקים) ובאר משה (12 חלקים) ידועים בעומקם. בתשכ”ח (1968), עם פטירת ר’ זלמן סורוצקין נבחר לנשיא מועצת גדולי התורה.
