Autograph letter written on Erev Rosh Chodesh Elul. A particularly heartfelt letter of encouragement to a Chossid. The Rebbe explains that what prompted the letter, was that thoughts of this Chossid entered his mind during the Zemiros at Sholosh Seudos, hence the correspondence. The Rebbe then expounds on the importance of the month of Elul, and its preparation for Rosh Ha’Shana – the day of judgement.
R. Avrohom Yitzchak Kohn [1914-1996] was the son in law of R. Aaron Roth (Shomrei Emumim Rebbe). Following the passing of the Shomrei Emumim Rebbe a large number of Chassidim accepted him as Rebbe with the name Toldos Aaron. Renowned as particularly pious he had a great impact on his Chassidim serving as Rebbe for over 50 years. Father of the current Toldos Aaron Rebbe and the Toldos Avrohom Yitzchak Rebbe.

מכתב אוטוגרפי שנכתב בערב ראש חודש אלול. מכתב עידוד נרגש במיוחד לחסיד. הרבי הסביר שהמניע למכתב היה מחשבותיו של החסיד שנכנסו ללבו בעת הזמירות בסעודה שלישית, ומכאן נבעה ההתכתבות. לאחר מכן הרבי מרחיב את הדיבור על חודש אלול וההכנה לראש השנה – יום הדין.
ר’ אברהם יצחק קאהן (תרע”ד-תשנ”ו 1914-1996) היה חתנו של ר’ אהרן ראטה (הרבי משומרי אמונים). לאחר פטירת הרבי משומרי אמונים, מספר רב של חסידים קיבלו אותו כאדמו”ר תחת השם “תולדות אהרן”. הוא התפרסם בצדקותו המופלגת והשפיע רבות על חסידיו במשך חמישים שנות כהונתו כרבי. אביו של הרבי הנוכחי מתולדות אהרן והרבי הנוכחי מתולדות אברהם יצחק.
