R. Pinchos Hirshprung (1912-1998), was the Chief Rabbi of Montreal, Canada and one of the great students of R. Meir Shapiro of Lublin. He was a world renowned Talmid Chochom, famous for his almost unparalleled Torah knowledge. During the War he went from Vilna to Shanghai and in 1941 he reached Canada.

ר’ פנחס הירשפרונג (תרע”ב-תשנ”ח 1912-1998) היה רבה הראשי של מונטריאול, קנדה ומבכירי תלמידיו של ר’ מאיר שפירא מלובלין. הוא נודע ברחבי העולם כתלמיד חכם עצום והתפרסם בבקיאותו בתורה שאין לה כמעט אח ורע. במהלך המלחמה הוא נדד מוילנא לשנחאי והגיע לקנדה בשנת תש”א (1941).
