R. Sholom Mordechai Ha’Cohen Schwadron (1835-1911), known as the MaHarShaM, was a foremost halachic authority of his generation, responding to Halachic queries from across the world. His main works Shailos U’Teshuvos MaHarShaM and Daas Torah are widely studied sources of Halocha. Additionally, he authored Mishpat Sholom on Chosen Mishpat and Techeiles Mordechai on the weekly Torah portions. Primarily a talmid of R. Yoel Ashkenazy, he served in various rabbinical positions most notably Berzhan, after which he is known.

ר’ שלום מרדכי הכהן שבדרון (תקצ”ה-תרע”א 1835-1911), שנודע בכינויו “המהרש”ם”, היה מהפוסקים המפורסמים בדורו שהשיב בשאלות מרחבי העולם. ספריו – “שו”ת מהרש”ם” ו”דעת תורה” – הן ספרי יסוד בהלכה. בנוסף, הוא חיבר משפט שלום על חושן משפט ותכלת מרדכי על התורה. רבו העיקרי היה ר’ יואל אשכנזי. כיהן במשרות רבניות שונות העיקרית שבהן ברעזאן שעל שמה נקרא.
