Responsa Binyan Shlomo, by the famed R. Shlomo HaKohen of Vilna.
With the signature of R. Avrohom Dovid Rosenthal and a short unsigned dedication possibly written by R. Aryeh Levin, the legendary tzaddik of Yerusholayim. These two Gedolim were closely associated through Yeshivas Eitz Chaim.
R. Avrohom Dovid Rosenthal (1903-1999), was born in Yerusholayim and learned in Yeshivas Eitz Chaim and under R. Tzvi Pesach Frank. In 1950, he was appointed as a Dayan on the Perushim Beis Din. In 1959, upon the passing of R. Eliyahu Rom, R. Avrohom Dovid was appointed Rosh Av Beis Din. He also served as the Rav of the Sha’arei Chesed neighborhood. He was held in great esteem, particularly by R. Shlomo Zalman Auerbach who would confer with him on difficult Halachic questions.

עם חתימת ר’ אברהם דוד רוזנטל והקדשה קצרה לא חתומה, יתכן שנכתבה על ידי ר’ אריה לוין, הצדיק האגדי מירושלים. שני גדולי תורה אלו היו מקורבים מאוד דרך ישיבת עץ חיים.
ר’ אברהם דוד רוזנטל, (תרס”ג – תשס”ט, 1903-1999), נולד בירושלים ולמד בישיבת עץ חיים אצל ר’ פסח פראנק. בשנת תש”י (1950), נתמנה לדיין בבית הדין של הפרושים. בשנת תשי”ט (1959), עם פטירת ר’ אליהו ראם, נתמנה להיות ראש אב בית דין. הוא גם כיהן כרב שכונת שערי חסד. הוא זכה להערכה עצומה, בפרט אצל ר’ שלמה זלמן אויערבך שנהג להתייעץ עמו בעניינים הלכתיים מסובכים.
