R. Dovid Friedman (1850-1905), was a close talmid of both the Ksav Sofer and R. Menachem Katz-Prostitz Rov of Tzelem, who later became his father-in-law. Renowned as a great Talmid Chochom, he served as Av Beis Din of Tzelem and succeeded his father-in-law in 1890. He was the father-in-law of R. Mordechai Rothenberg, Av Beis Din of Antwerp, and R. Yissachar Shlomo Teichtal.

ר’ דוד פרידמן (תר”י- תרס”ה, 1850-1905), היה תלמיד מקורב להכתב סופר ולר’ מנחם כץ פרוזטיץ- הרב מצעלעם, אשר לימים היה לחמיו. נודע כתלמיד חכם עצום, שימש כאב בית דין בצעלעם וירש את מקום חמיו כרב בצעלעם בשנת תר”נ (1890). היה חמיהם של ר’ מרדכי רוטנברג, אב בית דין באנטוורפן, ור’ יששכר שלמה טייכטל.
