R. Yitzchok Isaac Eichenstein (1805-1873), was one of the leading Tzadikim and Mekubalim of his generation. He was a nephew and Talmid of R. Tzvi Hirsch Eichenstein (Ateres Tzvi) and R. Moshe Eichenstein of Sambor. He was known for his holy conduct from childhood. His illustrious uncle the Ateres Tzvi said about him that “a soul as holy as his has not been in the world for hundreds of years”. Whilst he was yet a child, R. Menachem Mendel of Rimanov said of him, “He will illuminate the world.” He was close to many of the Tzadikim of his generation including R. Naftali of Ropshitz, R. Meir of Premishlan, R. Shalom of Belz. He traveled to R. Yisroel of Ruzhin, and even as far as Mezhibuzh to meet the Apta Rav.

ר’ יצחק אייזיק אייכנשטיין (תקס”ה- תרל”ג, 1805-1873), היה מגדולי הצדיקים והמקובלים בדורו. אחיינם ותלמידם של ר’ צבי הירש אייכנשטיין (העטרת צבי) ור’ משה אייכנשטיין מסאמבור. עוד מצעירותו ניכרה בו הנהגתו הטהורה, ודודו המפורסם העטרת צבי אמר עליו “כי נשמה טהורה כשלו לא ירדה לעולם במשך מאות שנים”. עוד בצעירותו אמר עליו ר’ מנחם מנדל מרימנוב “כי הוא עתיד להאיר את העולם”. היה מקורב מאוד לרבים מצדיקי דורו, ביניהם ר’ נפתלי מרופשיץ, ר’ מאיר מפרעמישלאן, ר’ שלום מבעלזא. הוא נסע למרחקים כדי להסתופף בצלו של ישראל מרוז’ין, ואפילו הגיע עד מעז’בוז על מנת לפגוש את הרב מאפטא.
