Important work of responsa on the four parts of the Shulchan Aruch, by R. Avrohom Tzvi Hirsch Patznovesky of Piltz, a close talmid of the Chozeh of Lublin. This Sefer was published shortly after the passing of the author at the age of 46. It includes an introduction by the author as well as his father who outlived him.
On the flyleaf it states that this sefer belonged to R. Yeruchum Yehuda Leib Perlman (i.e. the Minsker Gadol). With a gloss possibly in his handwriting.
R. Avrohom Tzvi Hirsch Patznovesky of Piltz (1773-1819), was a student of the Chozeh of Lublin and served as Rav in Piltz and Pietrekow.
R. Yeruchum Yehuda Leib Perlman (1835-1896), known as the Minsker Gadol, was a talmid of the renowned R. Yaakov Meir Padwa. He served as Rav of Selitz and Pruzhan, and from 1893, as Rav of Minsk until his passing. His novella on Mishnayos were published in the Vilna Mishnayos under the title Ohr Gadol. His responsa were also published under this name in Vilna 1924. He was held in tremendous esteem as evidenced by the title “Gadol”. Father-in-law of R. Eliezer Rabinowitz, who succeeded him as Rov of Minsk and of R. Avrohom Duber Kahana Schapira (D’var Avrohom), Kovno Rov.

על הכריכה הפנימית מצוין כי ספר זה היה שייך לר’ ירוחם יהודה לייב פרלמן (כלומר הגדול ממינסק). עם הגהה, יתכן בכתב ידו.
ר’ אברהם צבי הירש פצנובסקי מפילץ (תקל”ג-תקע”ט, 1773-1819), היה תלמיד של החוזה מלובלין. כיהן כרב בפילץ ובפיטריקוב.
ר’ ירוחם יהודה לייב פרלמן (תקצ”ה- תרנ”ו, 1835-1896), המכונה הגדול ממינסק, היה תלמידו של הגאון הנודע ר’ יעקב מאיר פאדווא. כיהן כרב בסעליץ ובפרוז’נה, והחל משנת תרנ”ג (1893) עד פטירתו כיהן כרב במינסק. חידושיו על המשנה התפרסמו בהוצאת משניות וילנא מהדורת תרס”ה (1905) בשם אור גדול. תשובותיו יצאו לאור אף הם בשם זה. היה נערץ ונכבד ביותר כפי שמעיד התואר “גדול”. חמיו של ר’ אליעזר רבינוביץ שירש את מקומו כרב במינסק, ושל ר’ אברהם דובער כהנא שפירא (דבר אברהם), הרב בקובנא.
