Sorah Schenirer (1883-1935), was a pioneer of Jewish education for girls and initiated the system of organized Jewish education for girls “Bais Yaakov”. Founded in 1917 with a few students, by the eve of the Holocaust there were about 250 schools established with over 40,000 students. Her influence and contribution to Torah true Judaism is immeasurable and her educational system and teachings live on.

שרה שנירר (תרמ”ג- תרצ”ה, 1883-1935) הייתה חלוצת החינוך היהודי לבנות ויזמה מערכת חינוך יהודית מאורגנת לבנות – תנועת בית יעקב. בית הספר הראשון של בית יעקב נוסד בשנת תרע”ז (1917) עם מעט מאוד תלמידות, אך בערב השואה כבר נוסדו כ-250 בתי ספר שבהם מעל 40,000 תלמידות. השפעתה ותרומתה ליהדות תורנית אמיתית אינן ניתנות לשיעור. דרכה בחינוך, יחד עם המוסד העצום שהקימה, קיימים ועומדים עד ימינו אנו.
