R. Yosef Dovid (1657-1737), was a Talmid of R. Yitzchok Toledano. He served as a Dayan and later as Rav in the distinguished community of Salonika. He was one of the most well-known rabbinical leaders of his era and is sometimes referred to with the acronym MaHaRID.
