R. Dovid Ganz (1541-1613) was a student of R. Moshe Isserles (Rema) and the Maharal of Prague. Unusual for his era he was both a Torah Scholar in addition to being proficient in the sciences, and was in contact with the greatest astronomers of his time including Kepler and Tycho Brahe.

ר’ דוד גנץ (ש”א-שע”ג 1541-1613) היה תלמיד של ר’ משה איסרליש (הרמ”א) והמהר”ל מפראג. הוא היה ייחודי בדורו בהיותו תלמיד חכם ויחד עם זאת בקיא במדעים. הוא שמר על קשר עם גדולי האסטרונומים בדורו כולל קפלר וטיכו ברהה.
