Rare sefer of Deroshos and homilies on the weekly Torah portion by R. Shlomo ben Isaac HaLevi. Although it states “part one” on the title page, no additional sections were published.
R. Shlomo ben Yitzchak HaLevi (1532–1600) was a prominent Rav in Salonika during the Jewish community’s “Golden Age.” Among his other duties, he served the exiled Jews from Portugal.
The sefer incorporates sermons delivered in Salonika between the years 1568 and 1575. Unusually, the sefer opens with Vayikra and follows with Bereishis etc. in accordance with the tradition to commence the study of Torah with subjects of purity. Author of the seforim Lev Avos, Lechem Shlomo and Cheshek Shlomo.

Some professional restorations to the first few and last few pages, at times affecting some text. Modern binding with leather spine.

ר’ שלמה בן יצחק הלוי (רצ”ב- ש”ס, 1532-1600) היה מגדולי רבניה של סלוניקי שביון בתקופת “תור הזהב” שלה. בין השאר, סייע למגורשי פורטוגל. מחבר הספרים לב אבות, לחם שלמה וחשק שלמה.

מעניין שהספר פותח בויקרא וממשיך בבראשית וכו’, לקיים את המסורת להתחיל את לימוד התורה בהתעסקות בטהרה.
