Autograph letter dated 1951 written to R. Moshe Rosen. Thanking R. Rosen for his sefer Nezer Ha’Kodesh on Tractate Chulin. The Brisker Rav apologizes for his delayed response, due to illness and warmly blesses the author to continue learning and disseminating Torah.
With lengthy addendum of Torah novella on some of the points raised in the sefer, seemingly unprinted.
R. Yitzchak Zev Ha’Levy Soloveitchik (1886-1959) was of son of R. Chaim Ha’Levy Soloveitchik. Primarily a disciple of his father and Grandfather R. Yosef Dov Ha’Levy Soloveitchik (Bais Ha’Levy) he was renowned from a young age for his brilliant mind coupled with outstanding diligence and great fear of Heaven. He succeeded his father as Rav of Brisk where in addition to his rabbinical duties he taught a small group of exceptional disciples. Following his miraculous escape from Europe during the Holocaust he lived in Yerushalayim where he taught Torah to his sons and a small group of outstanding disciples. Recognized as the one of the preeminent Torah leaders of his era he was held in awe by his rabbinical contemporaries as well as by the masses.
R. Moshe Rosen (1871-1956) was one of the most distinguished Talmudic scholars in the United States. As a young rabbi in Lithuania he studied with the Chazon Ish and after emigrating to the U.S.A he became a Rav in Brownsville. He authored the multi-volume Nezer Ha’Kodesh on the difficult Talmudic order of Kodshim as well as a volume of responsa entitled She’ailos Moshe.

ר’ יצחק זאב הלוי סולובייצ’יק (תרמ”ו-תשי”ט 1886-1959) היה בנו של ר’ חיים הלוי סולובייצ’יק. תלמידם המובהק של אביו ושל סבו ר’ יוסף דוב הלוי סולובייצ’יק (“בית הלוי”). מגיל צעיר הלך שמו לפניו כבעל מח חריף, שקדן עצום וירא שמים. הוא ירש את מקום אביו כרב בבריסק, ובנוסף לתפקידו כרב לימד קבוצת תלמידים נבחרים. בעקבות בריחתו הניסית מאירופה בתקופת השואה הוא קבע את מושבו בירושלים, שם לימד תורה לבניו ולקומץ תלמידים מצטיינים. הוכר כאחד מגדולי המנהיגים התורניים בתקופתו והוערך במידה עצומה על ידי גדולי הרבנים והמון העם
ר’ משה רוזן (תרל”א-תשט”ז 1871-1956) היה מתלמידי החכמים המפורסמים בארצות הברית. כרב צעיר בליטא למד עם ה”חזון איש” ולאחר שהיגר לארצות הברית כיהן כרב בברונסוייל. מחבר ספר “נזר הקודש” על סדר קדשים וכן שו”ת בשם “שאלות משה”
