Report card (dated 1924) of a student in the great
yeshiva Beis Yisroel of Vishiva, written and signed
by the Rav and Rosh Yeshiva; R. Menachem Mendel
Hager.
? R. Menachem Mendel Hager (1885-1941) was
the eldest son of the Ahavas Yisroel of Vizhnitz.
Known as a tremendous Talmid Chochom, he
served as Rav and Rosh Yeshiva in the town of
Vizhnitz. Following World War One he relocated
with his father to Grosswardein. In 1921 he was
appointed as Rav of Vishiva where he led a large
Yeshiva with hundreds of students. Additionally he
was one of the most prominent rabbinical leaders
in Romania in the period between the two wars.
